I was born and raised outside of Denali National Park in Alaska. We lived without electricity or running water until I was about 16. My graduating class was only 12. I spent my time either outdoors riding my four wheeler way too fast down the dirt trails or indoors reading. Though I was and always will be a small town girl, I sure like the opportunity and lights of the big city, so during college, I jumped around exploring different places- two schools in Minnesota, one school in Washington and a stint in England. Five years of classes, people and road trips later, I graduated from The Evergreen State College. After that, I went home to figure out what to do with the rest of my life, and I met a man who would help me with that decision. We came to his small town in Hawaii since it is a lot warmer than Alaska, and we now are married with two children. In May I quit the only job I’ve ever had here in Hawaii, and I am attempting to become more of the person I’ve dreamed of. This is my first blog and I am hoping it turns out to be an integral part of my new me process.
